Default Life at DIMC and Teaching Facility

The life at DIMC is just like back home in the western countries. All students speak english and a whole westernized environment is created. You' notice a lot of people from all sorts of places, such as USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and the list goes on. From day 1 of school everyone adapts to the place easily and comfortably. Luckily there are no political issues at this campus at all. Also this campus is visually the most appealing and fun to hang out. The facilities for students are over whelming compared to the other universities. So, if you're planning on coming to Pakistan for medical school, DIMC would be the best option since the environment is pleasing along with the education, which ultimately comes from DMC (which has been one of the most prestigious medical college in Pakistan). All students get along with each other and a lot of parties are hosted as well, so you can also count "fun" in. There are also certain events, such as sports week, when DMC, SMC, and other insitutions come to DIMC. Concerts and all events are hosted at DIMC. There's a lot of facilities when it comes to sports, such being, DIMC has its own gym, football field, basketball court, badminton court, soccer field and stuff. When is comes to education, there are some really poor professors and some are really good, but I'm sure all universities have that. The education standards are relatively well but since we have foreigners, it takes a while to adapt to the teachings and the professors until we get used to it. But in the end, its medical school, nothing is easy, wherever you go. Seniors are always willing to help you when needed so that is a plus factor. There is also a certain class that are offered at DOW, which a lot of universities don't offer until 4th year or so, such as Agha khan. In this class, we learn small clinical procedures such as, first aid, CPR, intravenous injections and some really crucial life saving procedures. The reason for this is because, DIMC has a fairly good budget on them so they are able to afford the supplies and equipment needed. Recently other universities along with DOW, also have started case-based learning in first year where students are given a case and are to determine the problem, cause and diagnosis. This can really be helpful in for upcoming years.
